✨ Preparing for the NEC Creative Craft Show – Stitching Light into Every Thread
As October rolls in, the studio hums with that familiar mix of excitement and quiet focus. Boxes are being packed, threads wound, fabrics folded, and somehow the scent of hot glue and fresh fabric fills the air. It can only mean one thing — it’s nearly time for the Creative Craft Show at the NEC.
For four days, the vast halls will be alive with makers, dreamers, and curious hands ready to explore. This year, I’ll be teaching my Luminosity Baubles – delicate glowing forms that shimmer with colour and texture. They’re small, but they hold that moment of discovery I love so much in textile work — when a little experiment suddenly feels magical.
I’ll also be bringing along my Stitch-It Cards, patterns for Christmas Stockings and Posh Peg Bags, and perhaps a few surprises — I’ve been quietly working on some new Christmas decoration patterns and a range of needle cases that combine practicality with a touch of whimsy.
But more than anything, what I look forward to most is the conversations. The moments when someone pauses at the stand, drawn in by the glint of thread or the layered textures, and we start to talk — about process, materials, and the pure joy of making. Those connections are what make the show so special.
If you’re planning to visit the NEC, come and say hello. Let’s talk about stitches, surfaces, and those unexpected moments where fabric and imagination meet. You’ll find me surrounded by colour, texture, and, hopefully, plenty of laughter too.
And for anyone keen to come along — I do have a limited number of free tickets available. Quite a few have already gone, so it’s very much first come, first served. Just email me if you’d like one, and I’ll do my best to make sure you can join us for a day full of creativity and inspiration.
See you there — and let’s make something that glows.
