A New Adventure: Norfolk Lavender Farmers Market

There’s something quite special about being part of something right from the very beginning.

On Saturday 28th March, I’ll be heading to Norfolk Lavender for their very first Farmers Market event—and I have to say, I’m really looking forward to it.

I always enjoy getting out of the studio and taking Eau Brink Studio on the road, but this feels a little different. There’s a sense of anticipation when something is new. No expectations, no set routine yet—just the start of something that has the potential to grow into a much-loved local event.

And I’m really pleased to be part of that first step.

If you’ve never visited Norfolk Lavender before, it’s well worth the trip. There’s a calmness about the place—open skies, fresh air, and that feeling of space that we’re so lucky to have here. Later in the year, of course, the lavender fields are incredible, but even in early spring there’s a quiet beauty to it.

The market will be held at:
Norfolk Lavender, Caley Mill, Heacham, Norfolk, PE31 7JE
Saturday 28th March | 9am – 1pm

Plenty of time for a gentle morning wander.

For me, events like this are about so much more than simply putting things on a table. Yes, I’ll be bringing a selection of my work—but it’s also about the conversations that happen around it. The questions, the ideas people share, and those moments where someone connects with a piece in their own way.

That’s the part I really love.

I’ve been thinking carefully about what to bring along for this first market. It will be a mix of finished pieces and more tactile, process-led items—things that invite you to look a little closer.

You’ll find:

  • A selection of handmade textile pieces
  • Stitch-led work where texture really takes centre stage
  • Smaller items perfect as gifts or little treats
  • A curated range of fabrics, including the black, white and cream combinations I’ve been exploring recently

There will also be a few one-off pieces that haven’t made it onto the website—those ideas that start in the studio and take on a life of their own.

If you’ve been following along with my recent work, this will be a lovely chance to see it all in person. To feel the fabrics, look closely at the stitch, and really experience the detail.

It’s very different from seeing something on a screen.

Markets like this also have a wonderfully relaxed feel. You can take your time, wander around, discover other stalls, and enjoy being out and about without any rush.

And if you fancy making a morning of it, there’s always the option to stay a little longer—perhaps head into the restaurant for lunch afterwards, and of course, no visit to Norfolk Lavender is complete without a browse of their lovely shop.

So if you’re local—or fancy a little trip out—it would be lovely to see you there. Do come and say hello, have a chat, and take a look at what I’ve been working on.

I’ll be sharing a few glimpses of what I’m bringing along over the next few days.

There’s something quite exciting about the first of anything.

And I’m really glad to be part of this one.
