Catching Up – A Busy Stitchy Month Ahead!
Wow – what a week it’s been! First off, a huge thank you to everyone who popped in to see us at The Marriotts Warehouse Trust. We loved seeing so many familiar faces (and lots of new ones too!). It was such a great week of chatting, stitching, and sharing ideas.
And here’s some good news – the Dropped Stitch Artists will be back at Marriotts Warehouse Trust on Saturday 20th September for a special one-day pop-up. This time we’re bringing our Sew and Go kits. They’re quick, fun little projects you can sit down and try on the day, then take away with you. Perfect if you fancy dipping your toes into something new without needing a whole day.
A Little Update
Some of you might be wondering about the West Norfolk Textile Fair. After lots of thought, Anita has decided not to continue with it. These events take a lot of time and work to organise, and the response this year showed it’s probably the right time to put our energy into other projects. Thank you so much to everyone who’s supported it over the years – we’ve had some brilliant moments, and we’ll treasure them.
What’s Coming Up Next
Thursday – Experimental Day
Anita is running a really unusual workshop: writing a letter never to be sent. Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it? It’s all about mixing stitch, story, and imagination in a really creative way. Check the website for all the details and to book your spot.
Saturday – Natural Dyeing
Time to raid the garden! This workshop is all about foraging for dyeing materials (and yes, it does help keep Anita’s garden under control – two birds, one stone!). Expect colour, surprises, and lots of fun experimentation.
Can You Believe It’s Nearly September?
Honestly – how on earth did that happen?
At the start of the month, Anita will be heading to Farnborough for the Creative Craft Show (4th–6th September). It’s always a brilliant show – and the best bit? Free parking!
Because of this, there’ll be no Social Wednesday in September. Don’t worry though, it’ll be back in October. And our Experimental Day is still happening on Thursday 18th September, so keep that in your diary.
And Then… Exeter!
Once the Farnborough dust has settled, it’s a quick turnaround before Anita heads to Exeter for the very first time (25th–27th September). We’re excited to be taking Eau Brink Studio there – new show, new people, new adventures!
While Anita’s off gallivanting in Exeter, Ruth will be running her wonderful Bobbin Hanging workshop at Eau Brink Studio on the 25th. So whether you’re local or travelling, there’s something creative for everyone.
Wrapping Up
So yes – it’s a busy old month ahead! Between exhibitions, workshops, and shows, there’s plenty going on, and we’d love to see you at one (or more!) of them. Come along, join in, and let’s keep stitching, experimenting, and having fun together.
See you soon,
