Change is in the Air at Eau Brink Studio
There’s a real sense of change at Eau Brink Studio this week. After months of planning, the trees around the pond have finally come down. The space already feels lighter, more open, and full of possibility. All that remains now is the tidying up, and I can’t wait to see how the new view transforms through the seasons. It feels like a fresh start, ready to inspire new ideas and projects.
Speaking of fresh inspiration, last weekend I had the joy of being at the Creative Craft Show in Exeter. What a fabulous three days it was! The atmosphere was buzzing, the workshops were filled with enthusiastic makers, and I met so many lovely people. Thank you to everyone who came along to say hello, joined in with the workshops, and shared your own creative journeys. These shows are always exhausting, but in the best possible way—they recharge me with new energy and ideas to bring back into the studio.
Now, of course, there’s little time to rest because October is shaping up to be one of our busiest months yet. At the end of the month, we’ll be packing up once again and heading to the NEC in Birmingham for another round of the Creative Craft Show. It’s always such a highlight on the calendar, and I’m already preparing kits, samples, and ideas to share with everyone there.
In between the big shows, Eau Brink Studio is brimming with creativity this month:
-
Social Day – our regular chance to get together, stitch, chat, and inspire each other.
-
Experimental Thursday – where we push boundaries and play with new ideas in textiles.
-
Chinese Brush Painting – a chance to explore delicate, expressive mark-making in a new medium.
-
Workshops with Angie Hill and Ruth Holmes – both bringing their unique talents and inspiration to the studio.
It’s a rich programme, full of variety, colour, and creativity—just the way we like it.
As the pond clears and the garden opens up, as we move from Exeter to Birmingham, and as the studio buzzes with workshops and new projects, it really does feel like October is a month of both change and growth. I hope you’ll join us for some of it, whether in person at a class or out on the road at the shows.
