The Art of Lutradur: Pages, Layers & Storytelling
Beginners
Workshop bookings are non-refundable. By booking, you confirm acceptance of our Workshop Cancellation & Credit Policy.
Explore the creative possibilities of Lutradur through layered pages, stitched surfaces and simple textile book forms in this experimental workshop at Eau Brink Studio.
During this three-hour session, you’ll bring together techniques such as layering, transparency, cutwork, stitch and surface design to create a collection of expressive textile pages.
Working with different weights of Lutradur, you’ll experiment with overlapping surfaces, stitched details, openings and simple bindings, gradually building your samples into a small textile book or a series of connected pages.
The emphasis is on experimentation and personal expression rather than producing one fixed design. You can work with colour, texture, stitch and imagery to create pages that suggest a theme, memory, place or story.
During the workshop you will:
• Create layered and transparent Lutradur pages
• Explore stitch, cutwork and surface texture
• Experiment with simple textile book structures
• Combine different weights of Lutradur
• Explore ways of creating a sense of story or theme
• Create a small experimental textile book or collection of connected pages to take home
Perfect for:
• Textile artists and embroiderers
• Mixed media artists
• Creative book makers
• Anyone interested in experimental textiles and surface design
• Those wanting to combine several Lutradur techniques in one piece
