Experimental Lutradur Textile Workshop at Eau Brink Studio

Discover how heat can completely transform Lutradur in this creative textile workshop at Eau Brink Studio in West Norfolk.

This workshop explores the more textured and distressed side of Lutradur using heat tools, cutting and surface manipulation techniques to create unusual experimental surfaces for textile art, stitch and mixed media work.

Working with several weights of Lutradur, you will explore how the material shrinks, melts, burns back and changes under heat to create delicate textures, organic holes and dramatic surface effects. You will create a collection of samples and experimental pieces while building confidence with the material in a relaxed and supportive environment.

This workshop follows on naturally from The Art of Lutradur: Colour, Print & Surface, although previous experience is not essential.

During the workshop you will:

  • Explore how different weights of Lutradur react to heat

  • Experiment with cutting, distressing and surface texture

  • Create textured and organic surfaces

  • Produce a collection of experimental samples

  • Develop ideas for future stitch and mixed media work

Suitable for:

  • Textile artists and embroiderers

  • Mixed media artists

  • Creative stitch enthusiasts

  • Anyone interested in experimental textiles and surface design
