The Walks

The Walks is an original framed textile artwork inspired by the historic landscape of The Walks in King’s Lynn, Norfolk. Rich layers of brown, bronze, blue and mossy green thread capture the atmosphere of the wooded park, with its winding path, mature trees and distinctive stone ruins.

The artwork was created using a multi-stage process combining photography, digital design and machine embroidery. It began with a photograph of the scene, which was then digitally developed and converted into an embroidery design. The completed design was transferred to the embroidery machine, where thousands of individual stitches recreated the image in thread.

Dense stitching and carefully layered colours give the piece depth, texture and movement. The path draws the eye through the woodland towards the ruined archway, while the embroidered surface changes subtly as the light falls across it.

Presented in a contemporary dark grey frame, The Walks is a one-of-a-kind piece of embroidered landscape art for collectors of original textile art, machine embroidery, Norfolk artwork and fibre art.
