Spend a creative day exploring contemporary crewel embroidery using the hare as your starting point.
This workshop is part of the Decorative Creatures: Contemporary Crewelwork series, with a different animal or creature featured each month.
During the day you will choose from a selection of hare designs and learn how to build your piece using a range of traditional crewel embroidery stitches. The designs have been created with a more contemporary feel, allowing you to explore colour, texture and decorative detail without being tied to a traditional crewel pattern.
The workshop is suitable for beginners as well as those with some embroidery experience. You do not need to have attended any of the other workshops in the series.
You will be guided through transferring your chosen design, selecting colours and threads, and working the stitches needed to bring your hare to life. Depending on your pace, you may complete your piece during the day or leave with everything you need to finish it at home.
