Learn to use your sewing machine with confidence
Have you bought or inherited a sewing machine but feel unsure where to begin? This relaxed beginner evening will help you understand your own machine and start sewing without feeling overwhelmed.
Bring your sewing machine with you and learn how to set it up, thread it correctly, wind and insert the bobbin, choose basic stitches and adjust the main controls. You will have time to practise while receiving friendly, practical guidance in a small group.
During the workshop you will:
- identify the main parts and controls of your machine
- thread the upper thread correctly
- wind and insert the bobbin
- select and practise useful basic stitches
- understand stitch length and width
- troubleshoot common beginner problems
- build the confidence to continue sewing at home
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and anyone who owns a sewing machine but has never felt confident using it.
Please bring:
- your sewing machine in safe working order
- the power lead and foot control
- the instruction manual, if you have it
- any accessories supplied with the machine
