Explore the art of patching and piecing, working with cloth to create thoughtful, layered textile work.

Led by Amanda Clayton at Eau Brink Studio in West Norfolk, this workshop focuses on using small pieces of fabric to build something new, considering both traditional techniques and more contemporary approaches to joining cloth.

Working with reclaimed, vintage or newly chosen fabrics, you’ll explore how different materials behave, responding to their qualities as your piece develops. There is an emphasis on careful construction, surface, and the quiet detail that comes from working slowly and thoughtfully.

You’ll be guided through a range of techniques including piecing, layering and joining methods, allowing you to develop your work in a way that feels personal and considered.

You’ll leave with a developed textile piece and the confidence to continue exploring these techniques in your own work.
