Threads & Techniques Workshop: Get More from Your Sewing Machine with Anita O’Neill
Beginners
Workshop bookings are non-refundable. By booking, you confirm acceptance of our Workshop Cancellation & Credit Policy.
Discover how to get much more from your sewing machine in this practical, creative full-day workshop at Eau Brink Studio.
Led by Anita O’Neill, this hands-on session is designed to help you move beyond basic stitches and explore the creative potential already built into your machine. You’ll work step by step through decorative stitches, specialist threads and surface techniques, creating a stitched sampler as you go.
You’ll experiment with metallic and variegated threads, explore using more than one thread through a single needle for extra texture, and learn how small changes in thread, stitch and tension can completely alter the result.
In the afternoon, you’ll be introduced to free-motion embroidery, bringing together the techniques explored during the day to create more expressive and individual stitched work.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a collection of stitched samples and far more confidence in using your sewing machine creatively.
During the workshop you will:
• Create a machine-stitch sampler
• Explore decorative stitches
• Experiment with metallic and variegated threads
