(Amanda’s final workshop at Eau Brink Studio)
Date: Sunday 17 May
Time: 10am – 4pm
Location: Eau Brink Studio, West Norfolk
Cost: £65 workshop fee
This special one-day workshop marks Amanda Clayton’s final teaching day at Eau Brink Studio, offering a thoughtful and exploratory approach to working on the edge — of cloth, ideas, and process.
The day focuses on how edges can be used as places of connection, transition, and expression within textile work. Through a series of guided exercises and stitched explorations, you’ll investigate how seams, borders, joins, and margins can become active, intentional parts of a composition rather than something to be hidden or resolved.
You’ll work with cloth in a considered, pared-back way, allowing stitch, structure, and decision-making to come to the fore. Techniques may include layering, joining, wrapping, extending, interrupting, and reinforcing edges — encouraging you to respond intuitively to the material as it develops.
As with all of Amanda’s teaching, the emphasis is not just on technique, but on observation, confidence, and creative decision-making — skills that can be transferred directly back into your own studio practice.
This final workshop is a chance to spend a day working slowly and thoughtfully with one of the UK’s most respected textile educators, in a supportive and reflective studio environment.
Designed to be accessible and unrushed, this workshop is ideal for beginners while still offering plenty of scope for experienced stitchers.
