This workshop offers a calm, supportive introduction to working with fabric, stitch, and embellishment through the creation of a wearable button collar.
Designed for anyone who enjoys slow, hands-on making, the day focuses on exploration rather than expectation. You don’t need to feel confident with sewing or have any prior experience of textile techniques — the workshop is structured to support beginners, returning stitchers, and those simply looking for time and space to play with materials, colour, and texture in a relaxed environment.
Throughout the day, Cat will guide you through developing your collar step by step, encouraging small-scale textile experiments and thoughtful design choices. The emphasis is on process, confidence-building, and creative discovery, rather than perfection.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a finished button collar and a clearer understanding of how simple textile ideas can be developed into wearable pieces.
This is an ideal winter workshop if you’re looking to reconnect with making, try something new, or gently build creative momentum.
➕ £5 materials fee (payable to Cat on the day)
Buttons can be purchased from Cat during the workshop.
Designed to be accessible and unrushed, this workshop is ideal for beginners while still offering plenty of scope for experienced stitchers.
