Experimental Textile workshop

Brilliant day using nappy liners, fabric, inks, bondaweb, sewing machine, foils, more stitching and stencilling we created a piece a textile panel. Anita who runs this workshop does a great job with step by step tuition and helps a lot. I highly recommend the workshops there. Anita always cooks lovely cakes to go with the coffee. A great day out a bargain at £30.

Great day, fun to work with new materials. Anita is a good teacher , demonstrating techniques but allowing you to use them in your own way. Very generous with materials and equipment.

Enjoyable, creative and rewarding day.

It was the first time I had attended an Experimental Thursday and I was not disappointed. I learnt such a lot, all of it so useful. For instance, I am very new to textile art and had not used stencils since childhood - it has opened up a whole new area for me.
The whole emphasis is on trying out and exploring new things with no pressure placed on ‘being perfect’, but on enjoying trying new skills and ideas. Anita explains and demonstrates everything clearly and is happy to go over anything again. All of us used the techniques learnt to produce quite different work - there is no learning by rote, proscribed project to complete. The only standardised thing was the size of canvas we used as a base.
For very little outlay this is an excellent day. Anita is generous with her skills and knowledge and is very encouraging and helpful. It really was the most enjoyable day with lovely people who share your interest and passion.
In the days since I am happily continuing with the piece I started - helped by advice and thoughts from Anita. She plants thoughts and ideas, she encourages you to use your imagination. The day made me push myself, fired my imagination and opened up all sorts of possibilities for creativity in the future. I can highly recommend trying an Experimental Textile Workshop - whatever your ability.

Had a great day today! Moving out of my comfort zone. I love all crafts, but they are mostly structured/formed - managed to be a little random/free today! Great group, great space and fabulous cake! Can’t wait until the next time I’m free to indulge again. Thank you Anita and the friendly like minded course attendees 😀 I’ll be back x
