Join us for a creative and inspiring two-day workshop, perfect for anyone who loves textiles, colour, and stitch!
Day One: Indigo Magic & Resist Techniques
We’ll begin with crisp white cotton organdie and dive into the rich world of indigo dyeing. Learn a range of traditional Shibori resist methods – including stitching, clamping, tying, and wrapping – to create beautiful, patterned fabrics.
You’ll also get hands-on with wax resist and stencil techniques, adding another layer of texture and design to your work. By the end of the day, you’ll have a stunning collection of unique indigo-dyed fabrics ready to be transformed.
Day Two: Stitching with Light – Machine Pojagi
On day two, we’ll explore the contemporary machine Pojagi technique, a beautiful Korean-inspired method of joining fabric with visible seams that are equally beautiful on both sides.
You’ll use your hand-dyed indigo fabrics to create a light, double-sided wall hanging that gently filters light – perfect for displaying in your home.
Want to add your own flair? Incorporate coloured organdie and decorative stitch to make your piece truly personal.
This is simple, straight-line machine sewing – ideal for all experience levels. (A sewing machine is required.)
Who Is It For?
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as more experienced stitchers looking to try something new. All levels welcome!
